Equine Focus Ltd specialises in equine sport therapy, rehabilitation and training for both horse and rider.
We aim to provide the best service for both you and your horse. In order to achieve your horse's full potential or put him back on track we work closely with you and a team of professionals. Therefore when appropriate we will advise you to contact your vet, farrier, dentist, saddler or chiropractor to work with us to support you and your horse's needs.
With so much more understanding of the equine as an athlete and the importance of fitness relevant to their chosen discipline the role of the Equine Sport Therapist has become more prevalent. Fitness measured purely by cardiovascular indicators are good records of general fitness, but the whole horse needs to be assessed to ensure that strength and resilience are achieved. We look at muscular, connective and skeletal systems and their co-ordination to help us to achieve this.
Stress and damage to the musculoskeletal system of the horse can be a great cause of discomfort and a major limiting factor in performance. As with our human athletes stiff, sore and aching muscles or bodies are not conducive to sporting potential. Many good horses do not reach their full potential due to pain and discomfort. The horse will commonly change in attitude and behaviour and performance deteriorates. Trust is lost between horse and rider and the partnership bound for success is lost.
Equine Focus Ltd uses a range of techniques to work with you and your horse to help maintain performance, health and fitness, prevent injury and identify subtle changes in the musculoskeletal system to prevent this trust from being lost.
