Amanda Taylor - Equine Sport Therapist

Amanda is an Equine Sport Therapist, specialising in Sport Massage for both horse and rider. Her practise has been built from her own experiences training, competing and caring for horses together with education and training from top sport scientists in the UK and USA.

Amanda graduated with BSc Honours in Equine Science in 1999 and ITEC Diploma in Massage for Humans in 2000. These combined she began to work with both horse and rider partnerships to improve and maintain their performance. Her time was divided between sport therapies and developing youth training programmes for the Equine and Veterinary Industries in the UK.

This work took Amanda to a diverse range of businesses where she was able to work alongside vets and other professionals with horses from racing, eventing, show jumping and dressage yards, riding schools and equine rehabilitation and therapy centres.

In 2003 Amanda completed the Advanced Equine Sport Massage course run in the UK by acclaimed USA therapist Debranne Pattillo of Equinology Inc. Since then she has worked with UK equine colleges providing sport massage therapy to their horses and lecturing to Equine Studies students.

Continuing her quest for knowledge she has also spent invaluable time with the top two Equine Therapy Centres in the UK researching the use and effect of hydrotherapy spa centres in the treatment of distal limb injuries.

Armed with her experience, skills and enthusiasm Amanda has now based herself in New Zealand and will be continuing her business from the Southern Hemisphere.
