Equine Sport Therapy Techniques available for Horse and Rider

Horse and rider Equine Sport Massage

The sensitivity of the horse's entire body surface makes them especially receptive to therapies that are based on touch. Massage can be used as a generalised way of relaxing or to pin point and release specific areas of tension within certain muscles.

Cycloid Hand Massage

The horse has 25 main nerve and acupressure points which can become blocked resulting in muscular tension and pain, shortened stride, loss of flexion and lameness. The hand massage unit is used directly on these nerve areas to relieve the symptoms.

Equissage

The Equissage tool is used as an adjunct to massage therapy and maximises mobility, improves circulation, loosens muscles and maximises performance.

Static and Motion Evaluation

We need to see for ourselves how the horse is built and how he moves to help us identify changes before and after a programme of therapy. Using a Body Map we record your horse's unique musculoskeletal frame. It includes an illustrated diagram, much like your horse's passport and vet records and records muscular symmetry, dental alignment, foot placement and much more.

Soft Tissue Mobilisation

Release of specific areas of tension within muscles using stress point therapy enables the muscle groups to contract and relax giving your horse increased range of movement and release from pain.

Rider Therapeutic Massage and Posture Correction

Your physical and psychological wellbeing are important and have a dramatic impact on your horse when building a successful partnership. We look at enhancing this partnership by helping with your balance and posture and maximising your athletic potential.

Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field Therapy

The pulsed electro magnetic field (PEMF) therapy unit used by Equine Focus Ltd is a simple effective treatment for horses and humans suffering from the following conditions: Chronic pain, acute inflammation, fractures and bone damage, open wounds, circulatory problems, soft tissue problems or as a general boost to the immune system.
